TAKE AND GO, S.A.S. DE C.V. (operator of Tago, the P2P vehicle rental marketplace in El Salvador, registered with the Commercial Registry of the CNR under entry 152, book 4942, with registered office at Avenida Jacarandas 175, Colonia Miramonte, San Salvador) respects your right to control your personal data under El Salvador's Personal Data Protection Law (Legislative Decree 144/2024) and international best practices. This page describes how to request deletion of your account and associated data.
How to request deletion
You have two options, both with the same effect: 1. **In the app:** Sign in to Tago → Profile tab → Delete account (at the bottom of the menu, next to Log out). Confirm in the dialog and the request is processed automatically. 2. **By email:** Send an email to privacy@tago.rent from the email address associated with your Tago account, with the subject "Delete my account". We aim to process it within 7 business days and confirm by the same channel when complete; the legal maximum response deadline is 20 business days, extendable once by up to 20 additional business days with notice (Art. 20 of D.L. 144/2024). Before deleting, you can download a copy of all your information from Profile → Download my data.
Data that is deleted
When you delete your account we permanently remove the following, except where a legal obligation requires us to safekeep it (in which case the record is blocked — see the section below): • Profile (name, profile photo, date of birth, email, phone) • Identity verification documents (national ID/passport and driver's license, liveness selfie photos) • Listed vehicles (photos, description, location, calendar) • Chat message history • Saved payment methods (card token — we never store the actual card data; Wompi handles it under PCI-DSS) • Preferences, ratings you've given, saved locations
Data we retain by legal obligation
Even after account deletion we keep certain information when required by law: • **Financial and tax records** — invoices and electronic tax documents (DTE), receipts, transfers, accounting entries: 10 years from generation, per Art. 147 of the Salvadoran Tax Code. • **E-commerce relationship records** — proof of the commercial relationship, your personal data, the contracting steps, payment method, and delivery: 10 years from the finalisation of the transaction, per Art. 21-B lit. c) of the Consumer Protection Law (D.L. 776). • **Trip records involving disputes, insurance claims, or open investigations** — kept until resolution and through the applicable statute of limitations. • **Data required by judicial proceedings or competent authorities** — for the duration of the obligation. Over these records your right to erasure produces **blocking**, not deletion: they are withdrawn from all commercial use and kept available only to authorities and courts, and for the formulation, exercise, or defence of claims (Arts. 10 para. 2 and 11 of D.L. 144/2024). They are kept in anonymized or pseudonymized form when possible, and only authorized personnel can access them.
Timeline
• Request confirmed: within 7 business days of receipt (legal maximum: 20 business days, extendable by 20 additional business days with notice). • Effective deletion: within 30 days of confirmation. Those 30 days are our own grace period so you can change your mind, not the legal response deadline. • Removal from encrypted backups: within 90 days. If you have an active booking or trip in progress at the time of the request, we wait until the trip ends before processing the deletion, to guarantee insurance coverage and resolution of any incident. We notify you when processing begins.
